Landrace

A landrace is a strain that has adapted to its natural environment over generations, evolving without extensive human intervention or crossbreeding with other strains. These landraces are typically named after the geographic regions where they originate, such as “Afghan,” “Thai,” “Hindu Kush,” or “Colombian.” They represent the foundational genetics from which modern hybrid strains are often developed.
